A classically trained pianist and a dedicated music educator based in Singapore, currently qualified with DipABRSM in Teaching, DipABRSM in Piano Performance and Grade 8 in Music Theory. Despite being a certified piano teacher who has worked with children and teenagers of various ages and skill levels since 2010, Poh Ying continuously seeks to improve and upgrade her professional portfolio by continuous practice and participation of masterclasses by well-known piano professors. She enjoys empowering students with the tools and opportunities to help them realise their musical goals and become independent musicians.

Poh Ying’s teaching style focuses on music literacy, sight-reading, technical work, music theory and concert preparation for optimal growth and development in music education. Interactive approaches such as listening, singing and movement are used for introducing musical concepts to children. As a teacher, Poh Ying is always pursuing new teaching methods and curriculums to keep her lessons fresh and adequate.

Ms Leong Poh Ying currently operates her business as a travelling instructor in the west, north and central areas of Singapore which provides the convenience of teaching her students in their own homes.

In her spare time, you can find Poh Ying at her piano working on various repertoires, indulging in oldies (ABBA, Carpenters, Eagles to name a few) and exercising. She is all about healthy living too!
